Commission

This commission, organized by Barbara Braathen, was based on the "nine heart" painting Tompkins Square completed a year before in 1996..  Instead of one big painting of 9 hearts, the client wanted 9 separate hearts.  The hearts were "downsized" to a 13" diameter and painted on separate 24" squares of canvas.  The client specified four of the nine colors.  Two of the nine total paintings were sent ahead before this picture was taken.  Pictures of these 2 (red ones) will be added later.  This picture was taken in my studio.
