There's a six story building across the street that has no view of the
World Trade Center due to the hospital you see on the left. People
who live in this building went to their roof hoping to see for themselves
what they were hearing about on their morning TV and radio
programs. Despite craning their necks to get a glimpse it was
no use; they still couldn't see the towers but they could see the smoke
and stood dumbfounded for a few minutes absorbing the reality before going
back inside. One man was in his bathrobe. Others were on cell phones.
